Hamer Hall
A poster to depict ARM’s renovation of Hamer Hall. Created in celebration if their nomination into the Victorian Architecture Awards held by the Australian Institute of Architects.
Hamer Hall was originally designed by Roy Grounds’ and opened in 1982. In 2010 ARM renovated the music hall, adding an element of movement to the music venue through the addition of large, organic concrete forms to the round concrete building brings a sense of performance.
Bringing music and architecture together, the poster was created by exploring elements and details of the building as a visual language. It is free flowing, with elements of repetition and shapes that can be interpreted in musical form (akin to John Cage).
The idea being to create a poster that can also act as graphical notation.
