Arlandes Typeface

Being true to the elements of a Didone typeface; Arlandes features strong stroke contrast, a completely vertical stress and thin, hairline serifs without brackets.

Arlandes is named after the Marquis François d’Arlandes. He successfully engaged the Duchess of Polignac’s aid to petition King Louis XVI to be  allowed to fly the first untethered hot air balloon with Jean-François Pilâtre de Rozier.
