Rooms Full of Roos
I really enjoyed the opening to David Lancashire’s Rooms Full of Roos exhibition last night. His Roo collages are beautiful and suggest the many layers that come together to form Australia’s rich culture. The large scale prints of his collages show the works in a new light, as all of the textures and intricacies of the patterns come to life. It’s on at Cyclone Gallery in South Melbourne until the 28th of June and is definitely worth a visit!
It was also the launch of the Search Volume One; which features David’s Roos. It’s a great little book, nicely documenting the collection. The Search Volume series seems like a fantastic one, focusing on the more personal art practices of many Australian creatives – which is often little seen. They can be seen here at Mark Gowing’s publishing group Formist Publishers.
